Our client requires a Deputy Group Treasurer to assist the Group Treasurer in ensuring controlled, efficient and cost effective management of the organisations liquidity, wholesale funding and balance sheet hedging portfolios. Managing the treasury department teams and assisting in the day to day management of front and middle office treasury, you will be responsible for monitoring and developing policies and procedures to ensure that they are consistently applied at all times.
You will provide efficient, cost-effective management of the organisation’s liquidity, wholesale funding and balance sheet hedging portfolios. Ensuring the organisation has access to a diverse funding base and its liquid assets are invested appropriately. You will be responsible for performance management, people development and recruitment of employees within the Treasury department.
As a strong communicator you will enjoy building and maintaining relationships with the Credit Rating Agencies and institutional investors within the UK and overseas. Monitoring the organisation’s liquidity position,You will develop and report appropriate liquidity stress tests identifying areas of concern and advising Senior Management where appropriate. In addition, you will develop strategies to mitigate any structural risks that arise in the balance sheet. You will also assist the Group Treasurer in maintaining appropriate interest rate exposure in accordance with Board policy.
To be successful within this position you will:
- Have experience working at Senior level within the treasury department of a building society or retail bank
- Be competent in completing reports for the Board
- Act as a member of the Management
- Have experience of front and middle office treasury
- Be educated to degree level or equivalent in MCT AMCT or ACA
- Possess up to date knowledge of liquidity, funding and hedging instruments used within the financial services industry.
